Answer 4 out of 5 questions correctly.
Petroleum,
also known as crude oil,
is a natural resource found in many parts of the world. Humans use petroleum to make different types of fuels, such as gasoline and jet fuel, as well as other products, such as plastics and waxes.
Mechanical devices called pumpjacks help extract petroleum from underground reservoirs.
Petroleum is usually extracted, or removed, from wells drilled into underground reservoirs— areas beneath Earth's surface where petroleum has collected. Pumps pull petroleum up through the wells to Earth's surface, where it can be stored in tanks or transported to refineries via pipelines.
Humans extract and use large amounts of petroleum every day. However, it can take millions of years for petroleum to form!
